GETTING STARTED & PRICING
What does Punji cost?
Punji is free — chat/MCP queries and full Portfolio Doctor analysis (overlap, trim candidates, tax harvest, benchmark gap, and more) come at no cost.
Do I need to upload my CAS to use Punji?
Not to get started. Portfolio X-Ray gives you a free, no-CAS-required first look. Uploading your Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) unlocks the full Portfolio Doctor analysis — overlap, risk, tax harvest opportunities, and more — and CAS upload itself is always free and unlimited.
How do I get in touch if I have a question that's not here?
Email us directly at Sales@cloudoptics.io — questions, partnerships, and feedback all go to the same place.
DATA COVERAGE & QUALITY
What data does Punji cover — mutual funds, stocks, F&O?
Mutual funds and stocks are both live.
Mutual fund coverage spans every AMFI-registered scheme across all categories (equity, debt, hybrid, and more).
Stock coverage spans the NSE-listed universe — prices, fundamentals, corporate actions, and shareholding data for around 1,400+ liquid, AMFI-relevant names.
F&O (futures & options) is a partial case worth being precise about: the raw exchange data — stock and index F&O price, open interest, and volume — is ingested and stored, but F&O-derived signals and features are still in development and not yet part of the live product.
How far back does your data go?
Mutual fund NAV history is backfilled from 2010 onward.
Index history goes back much further: key NSE benchmarks (Nifty 50, 100, 200, 500, Midcap 50/100, Next 50, Smallcap 100, and their TRI variants) run from January 2004, with price-return versions from January 2005. BSE indices (Sensex, 100, 200, 500, and TRI variants) run from January 2006.
Global indices are also tracked for context — S&P 500, Nasdaq, MSCI ACWI, and MSCI Emerging Markets from January 2010, MSCI World from January 2012.
Depth varies by data type: some fields, like detailed portfolio holdings or specific factsheet metrics (duration, turnover), have shorter or partial history because they depend on when regulators and AMCs began disclosing them, not on a limitation in our pipeline.
How many schemes and stocks are covered?
8,600+ actively tracked AMFI mutual fund schemes across all categories (equity, debt, hybrid, and more) — we also retain history for a much larger set of older, wound-up, or merged schemes rather than dropping them once inactive.
Around 1,400+ NSE-listed stocks, and roughly 700+ benchmark and reference indices tracked daily — domestic (Nifty and BSE families across market-cap and sector cuts) and global (S&P 500, Nasdaq, MSCI ACWI/EM/World) for context.
Stock coverage is broadly the most liquid, AMFI-relevant universe rather than every micro-cap name on the exchange.
How is data accuracy and quality ensured?
Data is ingested and enriched nightly through an automated pipeline, with every job run tracked for completion and failure so gaps get caught rather than silently persisting.
Coverage isn't uniform across every field — some niche metrics (like exact portfolio turnover or duration figures) have partial coverage today, and we'd rather say that plainly than imply completeness that isn't there yet.
When ingestion gaps are found — for example, a stock-data filter that was silently excluding certain trading-segment records — they get fixed and the affected history backfilled.
Where does your data come from?
AMFI, NSE, BSE, and individual AMC portals, refreshed nightly. This is public, regulator- and exchange-sourced data — not a proprietary panel or third-party data vendor.
PRODUCT & FEATURES
Can I ask Punji questions from Claude or another AI client?
Yes — Punji ships an MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration, so you can ask portfolio questions directly from Claude Desktop and similar clients, with portfolio-aware tools (portfolio value, allocation, tax-harvest opportunities, benchmark gap, SIP summary).
What is the Portfolio Scorecard?
A free, single-page summary of your portfolio's key metrics — value, allocation, overlap score, SIP efficiency, and a risk label — generated automatically once you upload a CAS. It's shareable via a public link with no personal information exposed.
I'm an advisor or building a fintech product — does Punji offer an API?
Yes. The Data API gives programmatic access to scheme metadata, NAV history, holdings, and peer rankings (free tier: 50 calls/day, paid tiers metered).
The Embed SDK lets you white-label Punji's chat and analysis surfaces inside your own product.
Advisor and API pricing is quote-based — reach out and we'll talk specifics.
TRUST & REGULATORY
Is Punji a brokerage or an investment advisor?
No. Punji is a research and educational product. We are not a SEBI-registered investment advisor and we don't execute trades or place orders. Punji tells you what you own and how it behaves — the decision, and any advice you need, stays with you or a qualified professional.
Will Punji tell me which fund to buy?
No, by design. Punji surfaces attributes — overlap, cost drag, risk, consistency, benchmark performance — but never says "Fund A is better than Fund B" or predicts future returns. The comparison and the decision are yours.
How secure is my data?
See our full Security page for details on encryption, infrastructure, and vulnerability scanning — the short version is: TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and we never sell or share your personal portfolio data.
PRIVACY & DATA SHARING
What are Punji's data privacy and sharing practices?
We don't sell or share your personal portfolio data — your CAS, holdings, and PAN exist only to power your own analyses.
Separately, the Data API sells programmatic access to public/aggregate market data (scheme metadata, NAV history, category rankings) to advisors and fintechs — that's market data, not your personal information.
Sign-in uses Google OAuth, so we never create or store a separate Punji password for you.
